MAYOR JENNINGS BREAKS GROUND ON NEW APARTMENT COMPLEX IN ALBANY

Albany, NY–Today, Mayor Gerald D. Jennings broke ground on The Alexander at Patroon Creek, a major new luxury apartment complex to be developed and built by Dean Spanos, President of A.G. Spanos Companies.

“This cornerstone development is a visible testament to the redevelopment of the western section of our City,” said Mayor Gerald D. Jennings.  “Obviously, thoughtful planning coupled with much hard work will now result in the construction of a premier address for our City.”

Conveniently located near Interstates 90 and 87 and across from the Harriman State Office Campus, The Alexander is a four-story 300-unit apartment community, aimed primarily at the professional market.  It is designed with great attention to detail to ensure that every residential unit affords comfort and security, and includes extensive amenities such as an upscale clubhouse, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a resort style swimming pool and a large sundeck.

“This is our first project in Albany, and we are extremely pleased with the progress we’ve made, thanks in large part to the City of Albany,” said Dean Spanos.  “It will be one of our signature apartment communities and a showpiece for this community and our company.”  The A.G. Spanos Companies is one of the nation’s major builders of apartment communities for the last 50 years.  Headquartered in California, the company has built projects in 22 states and stands as one of the industry’s most respected members.

Mayor Jennings was joined by senior staff of A.G. Spanos Companies, and civic and other elected officials.
