Summer Youth Employment Program

The Summer Youth Employment Program is designed to provide any young person, age 14-18, with a summer work experience.  Individuals wishing to participate in the program must reside in the City of Albany.  The program runs 6 weeks, during the months of July and August, and employees are able to earn between $5.00/hour and $7.25/hour (depending on their age) and work up to 20 hours a week.  The 2008 summer was one of the biggest programs to date, with over 1,400 young people employed and placed in one of the many work sites available throughout the community.  The employment partners include city, county, state offices, camp facilities and not for profit agencies.  For more information, please call 434-5723.
