Parking Violations Bureau
The Parking Violations Bureau is authorized to dispose of parking violations only and to collect the fines presently designated by the Court as penalties for parking violations over which the Bureau has jurisdiction. The Parking Violations Bureau notwithstanding any other provision is not authorized to deprive a person from their right to counsel or from exercising the right to appear in Traffic Court. Any person who shall have been, within the preceding twelve (12) months, guilty of more than six (6) parking violations shall not be permitted to appear in answer to a subsequent violation at the Parking Violations Bureau but must appear in Court at a time specified by the Bureau.
A plea and/or payment of a parking ticket must be made within 20 days. Failure to respond will be deemed a plea of guilty and may result in the issuance of a warrant for your arrest and the imposition of additional fines and penalties.

To plead not guilty or guilty with an explanation please bring notice with explanation, Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM only or mail to Parking Violations Bureau.
Cash should not be sent in the mail. PAYMENTS:
- Make check, money order, or bank check payable to Parking Violations Bureau.
- Mailing address: Parking Violations Bureau, Room 203, 24 Eagle Street, Albany, NY 12207.
- To make in person payments go to: Albany City Hall Room 110.
- Credit card payments accepted in person
RETURN CHECKS:
Due to “Check 21”, payments are clearing sooner; please make sure funds are available when payment is made. Return check fee is $34.00 per check. A check returned by a bank for insufficient funds or any other reason will void the parking ticket payment.
