Albany, NY - Mayor Kathy M. Sheehan and Cash for Coats program partners Jack & Mark Yonally of Lodge’s Department Store, Peter Gannon, CEO of United Way for the Greater Capital Region, Burke Companies CEO Tom Burke, Patty Lennox of Elks Lodge #59 & City School District of Albany Superintendent Kaweeda G. Adams distributed new winter items collected through the 2020 Cash for Coats Drive to Albany Thomas O'Brien Academy of Science and Technology students in need this morning.
Cash donations were collected throughout the month of October and early November to benefit the drive, which has distributed tens of thousands of brand new coats, hats, gloves, mittens and scarves to Albany children since 2007. This year over 1,200 coats and more than 3,500 hats/gloves/scarves were given out to City School District of Albany elementary school children at four different schools this week.
