Elk Street propertiesAssessment Database Online

The City of Albany has launched a web-based assessment database application. Residents are now able to search for and compare data from parcels around the city.

$5,000 Homeownership

Grant Program

Within the City of Albany’s “Midtown” area, there are several
different educational institutions. The colleges and university
located in this area are centers of activity and stability. These
institutions are essential in the growth and development of
Albany. The Program is focused on strengthening Albany
neighborhoods by increasing the rate of homeownership in the City.

Police Officer Exam

The City of Albany has announced the exam for Police Officer
to be held on November 15th, 2008. The deadline to submit all
applications is Thursday, October 16th, 2008.

  • MILLION-DOLLAR CHALLENGE GRANT TO TRANSFORM HOFFMAN PARK
    Albany Mayor Gerald D. Jennings and Saint Rose President Dr. R. Mark Sullivan today announced a $1 million challenge gift from global business leader Joseph J. Plumeri that will provide a first-class facility for the College’s outdoor athletic programs and endow Albany’s Hoffman Park with top-quality fields for community sports.
  • Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement for Proposed Residence Inn
    This SDEIS is prepared to address, among other things, the issue identified in the Decision & Order (the "Decision") in the case of Save the Pine Bush Inc., et al.v The Common Council of the City of Albany and Tharaldson Development Co. ( see Appendix SDI) concerning 'rare' plant and animal species known to be present in the Albany Pine Bush.
  • Wellington Place Development to Start
    ALBANY, N.Y. – Today Mayor Jennings was joined by Columbia Development and city officials to announce the start of the Wellington Place development. The $65 Million project will begin in Phase I, which includes environmental remediation, historic deconstruction and preservation and selective demolition.
  • 2008 Albany Sustainable Design Assessment Team Report
    In January 2007, the City of Albany, submitted a proposal to the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for a Sustainable Design Assessment Team (SDAT) to assist the city and its citizens in addressing key sustainability issues facing the community.
